Audra Wilson

Audra Wilson – piano, alto saxophone, music theory

Audra began studying classical piano with a private instructor at age five until enrolling in an intensive piano and music theory program at age 12 at the Westminster Conservatory of Music in Princeton, NJ, where she continued her studies throughout high school.

She began her second instrument, alto saxophone, at age 9, playing and competing in both piano and sax regularly throughout high school and college. She began teaching shortly after graduate school, and has taught both privately and in a music school over the last 20 years. In addition to teaching, she hosts a quarterly Piano MeetUp for adult amateur pianists in the Chicagoland area.

Although classically trained, Audra also plays by ear and dabbles in jazz and blues improvisation. She currently maintains a small studio of children and adults, and works to incorporate music theory in her students’ course of study.
