Megan Machnik began playing the clarinet at the age of eight in Port Charlotte, Florida under the tutelage of Mr. Les Kraus. She continued her studies at the University of Florida under Mr. Mitchell Estrin -- former Assistant Principal Clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic -- and, later, at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where she earned a Master of Music Degree in Clarinet Performance. At the CCPA, Ms. Machnik studied under Mr. John Bruce Yeh, Acting Principal Clarinetist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

She has performed at numerous national and international festivals, including the International Clarinet Association Festival in Washington, DC and the World Symphonic Band Conference in Singapore. She has also been featured on multiple CD recordings, both as a chamber musician and as part of larger ensembles. Ms. Machnik is well-versed in methodologies of clarinet pedagogy and began teaching clarinet at an early age. Aside from having taught numerous private students, she created and conducted the Florida Youth Clarinet Choir for high school students in northern Florida.
